Shih Tzu and Chinese Imperial estimated Weight Chart

This formula is used for "guessing" their size (the older they get the more accurate it will be) : The 14 week weight formula will be the most accurate for determining the size of your baby. In some of the case these estimates will be on the larger side of the possibility and in a few cases it may be a lb low.  But in most cases it is usually pretty darn close.  Remember not to "round up or down" as just a couple of ounces makes a big difference in the determination.

Chinese Imperial Body Structure :

4 weeks x 5.5 , 6 weeks x 4,  8 weeks x 3.25-3.75 , 10 weeks x 3-3.25,  12 weeks X 2.25-2.5, 14 weeks X 2.

Plus .5 for boys on all above weights

Standard Shih Tzu Body Structure: (standard sizes babies tend to have heavier bone structure and grow for a longer period of time)

4 weeks x 6 , 6 weeks x 5,  8 weeks x 3.5 - 4 ,  10 weeks x 3-3.5 ,  12 weeks X 2.5-3 ,  14 weeks X 2-2.5.             Plus .5 - 1 lb for boys on all above weights

Then realize you can plus or minus 1 lb due to growth patterns of individual dogs and that will give you a range of what to expect. However, these figures should be on the upper end of the scale.

Most puppies growth slows after 4 weeks of age due to not nursing continually and being put on "real food".  So just because a puppy weighs a lot at 3 weeks does not mean he/she will be an enormous baby.
