Below are the answers to some of the questions that people frequently ask.

Q) Are your puppies housebroken?
A) While our puppies are newspaper/pee pad trained to OUR home, you will need to re-train your new puppy to
YOUR home. You need to remember, the puppy has never been to your home and he/she does not know you.
If you take your puppy home and give him free range of a large area with only a small square of newspaper
or a pee pad placed somewhere, he/she will more than likely get lost and go potty wherever they are. We
recommend gating off a small area with a large patch of newspaper/pee pads and gradually opening up the
area as the puppy becomes more accustomed to you/your home. If you plan on housebreaking your puppy to
the outdoors, place the newspapers/pee pads in front of the door that you will want them to use and when
you see them headed there, take them outside. Chihuahuas are very tiny dogs, with very tiny bladders - they
can/will have to pee often!
Q) Are your prices negotiable?
A) No they are not. My prices are very fair for the level of quality/commitment that I offer - quite often lower
than others that do not offer the same. I am an AKC Breeder of Merit, an AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. member
and am committed to improving the Health/Future of my chosen breed. By the time I pay for routine
maintenance, equipment, supplies, quality food, supplements, Veterinarian care, bringing in new bloodlines,
Stud Fees, Health Testing, Certification Fees, Show Entries, Handling Fees, or travel expenses if I Show the
dogs myself & C-Sections, I constantly run in the negative as it is. Quality Chihuahuas are not an inexpensive
Breed to raise correctly. The average Chihuahua litter size is only 2-4 puppies. Many litters result in a
C-Section and it is not uncommon to lose puppies and in some cases, the Dam too.
Q) Do you offer any discounts?
A) Repeat Buyers will receive 10% off the purchase price of any future puppies and I will take 10% off the total
purchase price if 2 puppies are purchased at the same time. I also discount for any minor flaws that a puppy
may have while in my possession(umbilical hernia, etc.). Discount will be based on the current cost to repair,
during spay/neuter, at my Veterinarian.
A) No. After too many years of dealing with the drama of co-ownerships, people doing as they wished instead
of as they promised, and the stress of worrying over what was happening with my dogs and their offspring,
I decided that in order to stay sane and continue doing what I love, I needed to become a "closed" kennel.
With the exception of working with a couple of close friends and my daughter, If I do not keep a Show
Prospect puppy, he/she will be placed into a loving Pet home instead. It is the only way I can control what
is happening with my dogs/bloodlines. My boys are for my private use only.
Q) Do you maintain a waiting list?
A) I no longer maintain a general waiting list. I have found over the years that most people are actually not
willing to wait very long and will continue to search for a puppy elsewhere. I do start accepting applications
for any available Pet puppies once I have a litter on the ground. Applicants will be contacted in the order
they are received unless someone is looking for a specific trait/personality. I will make a reasonable attempt
to contact people once a puppy becomes available, but if I do not hear back from someone by the next day of
trying to contact them, I will assume that they have either lost interest or found a puppy elsewhere and
move on to the next person in line. I maintain my own website, so it is always up to date. If you are truly
interested in obtaining a puppy from us, watch my website and feel free to email me with any questions you
may have.
Q) Do I really need to fill out an Application?
A) Yes, an Application is required. I do not consider anyone to be serious about a puppy, nor will I consider
selling a puppy to anyone who refuses to fill out an application. I do not maintain applications so if you fill out
an application but do not buy an available puppy, or a puppy out of a current litter, you will need to re-apply if
you are interested in another litter/puppy.
Q) What will my puppy come with?
A) For a list of what your puppy will come with, please click here.
Q) Do Females make better pets than Males?
A) Please click here.
Q) Do you place your retired adults?
A) Yes, I will place my retired adults into mature Pet homes, if the right one comes along for them. I will only
place them within a reasonable driving distance from me(in the event that they should get away/become lost)
and a secure fenced in yard is required. They are placed for the cost of their spay/neuter/dental, which can
be done at my Veterinarians before they leave. I am also open to people checking for lower costs at their
Veterinarian, but it must be done within a certain time frame(proof of will be required) or the animal will be
required to be returned to me.
Q) Why do you void your health guarantee for certain conditions?
A) After years of preaching to Buyers over the dangers of certain vaccinations, over vaccinating, unnecessary
vaccinations, multiple vaccinations, oral/topical medications, collars, sprays, shampoos, etc. - and putting it in
my contract as well - they either aren't actually reading the contract before they buy the puppy, they aren't
listening to me when picking up their puppy, or they simply think I don't know what I am talking about. Their
Veterinarian, who makes money off pushing all this stuff - and also is making lots of money on any resulting
complications/reactions that many dogs develop after, convinces the owners that all of this is perfectly safe
and/or has no experience in treating Chihuahuas and just treats them the same as he would any other breed.
Or, the owners go into their local Pet Store and purchase any of the over the counter versions that they are
selling. Then when the animals become severely ill and/or die from any of the above, it is the Breeders that
get blamed for "bad breeding" and/or "genetic defects". We do not live in a Breeder friendly society
anymore - nor in a society where people take responsibility for their own actions. Many Veterinarians hate
Breeders, no matter how good they are and are quick to blame any issues an animal may have on them. I have
had 2 people, just in the last year alone, that have used Bravecto and Seresto and the animals, who were
perfectly healthy up to that point, died....and guess who the Vets blamed for the animals deaths? So, in turn,
guess who the Buyers blamed their animals deaths on, even tho they violated the conditions of my Contract
with their actions. I had another lady recently send me the neuter certificate for her puppy(which happened
to be the entire bill) and to my horror, the puppy not only had anesthesia(obviously necessary), but he had
also received a Lyme shot, a Rabies shot, he was started on a Heartworm preventative, he was given Nexgard
AND he was given a Distemper/Parvo booster, containing Lepto, even tho he had already had all of his puppy
shots and wasn't even due for another shot for another 10 months!! ALL OF THIS WAS IN THE SAME
VISIT!! Amazingly, he lived, but many Chihuahuas would not of. I'm sorry, but that is just a Veterinarian
being greedy, with absolutely no concern for the animals welfare and an owner that was blindly following what
their Veterinarian told them to do. NO dog should be overloaded with that much stuff all at once, let alone a
5 lb dog! I am not saying that all Vets are bad/greedy, etc. - just like with human doctors, there are good
ones and there are not so good ones, I am saying that people need to be more informed. I plead with people
to use a Veterinarian who is highly experienced in the care of Chihuahuas - or even a holistic Vet, but many
people will choose to use whoever is cheapest or closest. So, even though I can't control what people choose
to do after they take possession of their puppy, I can control being blamed for their and/or their
Veterinarians decisions. I 100% stand behind my dogs if a true genetic issue does come up - but I do not like
being blamed for the very issues that I warned people about, that they chose to ignore. If you choose to let
your Veterinarian overload your puppy with multiple vaccinations, unnecessary vaccinations and/or you choose
to use oral/topical medications, collars, sprays, shampoos, etc., it will be at your own risk. In both of the
cases above, the owners came to me(t
