I will only place adults into mature homes. Any adult I place will have to come back to me if he/she
can not be kept by the new owner. For this reason, I will only place my adults into homes that are
within a reasonable driving distance from me. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR RETURNED ANIMALS.
For obvious reasons, I want any adult I place to find their forever home. It is too hard on them to
be placed in to a new home briefly and then come back here, and then go somewhere else! Also, it is
very hard on me -and them- to take back an animal that I have no idea where he/she has been and
what they have picked up, especially if I have unvaccinated puppies. They have to go in to quarantine
for several weeks and it is very stressful for everyone. Adult Chihuahuas will take longer to adjust to you/their new home and your other pets than a puppy would(several weeks, to several months), so if you plan on only keeping them a couple of weeks and then saying, it isn't working out, please do not get an adult! While they are newspaper/pad trained to my home, they will have to be treated like a puppy
and re-trained to your home. Most adults will be unsure of you and perhaps even fearful of you/their
new situation and they will take lots of love and patience to overcome their uncertainty and become a member of your family. Again, adults can take weeks - possibly even months - to adjust to you/your
home and your other animals - so please remember this when you are looking at an adult. Also, I do not have cats or other small animals, so I have NO way of knowing how the dog will react to them.
If you are not willing to give an adult the time/patience needed to adjust to you/your
home and your other pets, PLEASE DO NOT inquire about adding one to your family.
