This puppy/dog is expected to take up to two weeks, possibly more, depending on age and temperament, before he/she becomes familiar with his/her new surroundings. It is perfectly natural if he/she chooses not to be sociable for a few days and cries/whines. In some cases, they will refuse food. Offer boiled chicken and/or soak/mash their dry food etc to make sure they are eating. I dont really recommend giving canned food as this usually will cause diarrhea, but as a last resort, offer a small amount to get the puppy eating if nothing else is working. Loving care and attention will aide in overcoming shyness in their new surroundings.
The Buyer agrees to spay/neuter this animal within 2(two) months of sale if an adult or BEFORE 1(one) year of age if a puppy. The
Buyer understands that this puppy/dog is not intended for show or breeding and is being sold as a Pet Only with Limited AKC Papers.
AKC Papers will be withheld until proof of spay/neuter is received for any puppy/dog that is already individually registered. The Buyer understands that if this animal is not spayed/neutered by the required time(unless for health/medical reasons, verified in writing by a licensed Veterinarian), the entire guarantee immediately becomes null/void.
This puppy/dog is guaranteed to be healthy, as near as the eye can. This puppy/dog has had age appropriate shots and wormings, which have been given by us(with the exception of Rabies, if applicable). We are NOT responsible should an overload occur due to your Veterinarian doubting our records, which can make the puppy/dog very sick or even possibly cause death. It is agreed that the Buyer will not allow this puppy/dog to have more than one vaccine per Veterinarian visit. We do not use vaccines with Leptospirosis included due to too many bad reactions to it - PLEASE discuss this with your Veterinarian. We are NOT responsible for any vaccine overloads or any reactions from any vaccines that you and your Veterinarian have chosen to do. Buyer agrees NOT to take a puppy to high risk areas(Pet Stores, Dog Parks, Training Classes, etc.), or put the puppy down on any random grass or floors(including the floor at your Vets)until the puppy vaccination schedule(3 shots) has been completed. Please be aware that even letting strangers pat or hold your puppy can be a concern. If they have been around any puppies/dogs at Shelters, Pet Stores, etc. that are sick, they might transmit it to your puppy.
It is understood at the time of sale that the Buyer must take this puppy/dog to his/her Veterinarian within TWO(2) business days from the date of sale listed above - if this condition is not met, this entire guarantee immediately becomes null and void.
If within 10 days from the date of sale listed above, a licensed Veterinarian states, in writing, that this puppy/dog had a health problem that existed at the time of sale that rendered him/her unfit for Pet purposes, the Buyer agrees to return the puppy/dog to the Seller within 48 hours(2 days) from the diagnosis. It is understood that this puppy/dog is not to be euthanized without the knowledge/written consent of the Seller and doing so will immediately void any refund/replacement. The ORIGINAL letter from the examining Veterinarian(address/phone number required) documenting why the puppy/dog is not acceptable and ALL original paperwork that was given with the puppy/dog at the time of sale must accompany the puppy/dog or there will be NO refund/replacement. The Seller reserves the right to have the puppy/dog examined by her Veterinarian(s). Providing these conditions are met, the Seller will replace the puppy/dog with a puppy/dog of the same sex/equal value, if one is available. If there are no puppies/dogs of the same sex/equal value available, the Seller will refund the original purchase price of the puppy/dog. If the Buyer chooses to take a puppy/dog of greater value as a replacement, he/she understands that he/she will need to pay the additional cost difference. If the Buyer chooses to keep this puppy/dog, he/she does so with the understanding that ALL current and future upkeep and medical/Veterinarian expenses will be the sole responsibility of the Buyer. The Seller will refund half of the original purchase price of the puppy/dog and the remainder of the Health Guarantee will immediately become null/void. NOTE: Seller DOES NOT warrant against Coccidia, Giardia, mites or the presence of worms, which may be found in any healthy puppy/dog and can be contracted immediately upon leaving my home. Many puppies/dogs are prone to outbreak of either Coccidia and/or Giardia under stressful circumstances. The symptoms can arise in a 12 hour period, and can not always be prevented by the Seller, because there are no signs until the puppy/dog is stressed, and their immune system drops. In respect to a dead puppy/dog, the Buyer must notify the Seller immediately and provide the Seller, and the Sellers Veterinarian, with a necropsy report(at the Buyers expense) from a qualified licensed Veterinarian (original copy - phone number and address must be included) indicating that this puppy/dog died as a direct result of a health problem that existed on or before the receipt of the puppy/dog by the Buyer - a photo of the deceased puppy/dog and verification of any microchip/tattoo that was given by the Seller is required to be included in the necropsy report from the examining Veterinarian. If it is felt that this puppy/dog died as a result of something that was done by your Veterinarian, I require that the necropsy be performed by a different licensed Veterinarian, at a different location. The Seller reserves the right to have the body of the puppy/dog brought to her Vet for a second opinion(at the Sellers expense).
No other guarantees are given or implied with the exception of hereditary defects that develop by 1(one) year of age that are life threatening or that will require extensive lifelong treatment to maintain life. It is understood that the Seller will be notified by phone and email immediately and the original written statement from a qualified licensed Veterinarian and/or Specialist, complete with phone number and address, must be mailed to the Seller within 1(one) week of diagnosis. The Seller reserves the right to have the puppy examined by her Veterinarian(s) and/or a Specialist. The Buyer can choose to keep this puppy with the understanding that ALL current and future upkeep and medical/Veterinarian expenses will be the sole responsibility of the Buyer and the Seller will refund half of the original purchase price of the puppy OR the Buyer can return the puppy along with ALL original and updated paperwork (signed back to the Seller) and the Seller will issue the Buyer a credit for the original purchase price of the puppy to use for another puppy when one becomes available. It is understood that if the Buyer chooses a partial refund, the Seller has up to 1(one) year from the final diagnosis to refund any money. *In respect to a dead puppy, the Buyer must notify the Seller immediately and provide the Seller with a necropsy report(at the Buyers expense) from a qualified licensed Veterinarian (original copy - phone number and address must be included) indicating that this puppy died as a direct result of a hereditary health problem - a photo of the deceased puppy and verification of any microchip/tattoo that was given by the Seller is required to be included in the necropsy report from the examining Veterinarian. If it is felt that this puppy died as a result of something that was done by your Veterinarian, I require that the necropsy be performed by a different Veterinarian, at a different location. Seller reserves the right to have the body of the puppy/dog brought to her Veterinarian for a second opinion. If it is found that this puppy died from the direct result of a hereditary defect, the Seller will issue the Buyer a credit for the original purchase price of the puppy to use for another puppy when one becomes available, or refund the original purchase price of the puppy(there are NO monetary refunds given after 1(one) year of age). It is understood that if the Buyer chooses a refund, the Seller has up to 1 year to refund any money. It is understood that this puppy is not to be euthanized without the knowledge/written consent of the Seller - doing so will immediately void any refund or replacement. It is understood that under no circumstances will a credit for another puppy or any refund be given if; your puppy was not taken to your Veterinarian within Two(2) business days from the date of purchase, if this puppy/dog was not spayed/neutered by the required time, if this puppy has been used for breeding, if this puppy has been fed a homemade raw diet,
if ALL original and updated paperwork(signed back to the Seller) is not given back to the Seller upon return/death of a puppy, if this puppy has been neglected, abused, has not been kept up on Veterinarian care, or if he/she has been euthanized without the Sellers written consent, so please make sure to keep ALL of these records.
*Breeder offered extended guarantee* If this dog ever dies from the direct result of a hereditary defect(*necropsy required/see above), the Seller will issue the Buyer a credit for the original purchase price of the puppy/dog, to use for another puppy/dog, when one becomes available, as long as ALL of the terms of this Contract have been met and I am still actively breeding Shelties. The Buyer understands that if he/she decides to take a puppy/dog of higher value as a replacement, he/she is responsible for any addition cost. The Buyer also understands that the extended guarantee becomes null/void upon my retirement from breeding Shelties.
Seller DOES NOT ever warrant against the following: Hernias, allergies, skin conditions, Cryptorchidism(retained testicles), injuries, neglect, issues due to aging/old age, size/weight, ears, teeth/bite, temperament or coat color/texture/length.
PLEASE NOTE: We will not guarantee any puppy/dog that the new owners choose to feed a homemade raw diet to. A person truly has to know what they are doing or they can cause great harm to a growing puppy/mature dog. Therefore, this contract will become null and void 10(ten) days after the date of sale listed above if you choose to feed a homemade raw diet.
It is understood that the Seller is NEVER responsible for ANY expenses, including Veterinarian, that are incurred by the Buyer after
the date of sale. It is understood that ALL travel expenses TO AND FROM the Seller are the responsibility of the Buyer. The Buyer understands that the extended guarantee becomes null/void upon my retirement from Breeding Shelties. The Buyer also understands that there are no monetary refunds given after one year of age.
It is agreed that if at any time during the life of this puppy/dog the Buyer can not, for any reason, keep him/her and is not able to find him/her a suitable new home with a family member or friend, this puppy/dog will be returned to the Seller. It is understood that NO money will be refunded after the first ten days from the date of sale(due to medical reasons only). It is agreed by the Buyer that should this puppy/dog be returned to the Seller, ALL original and updated paperwork will be returned with the puppy/dog and signed back to the Seller.
Please note: I DO NOT REFUND MONEY DUE TO A CHANGE OF HEART, INCOMPATIBILITY, FAMILY DISAGREEMENTS, LANDLORD ISSUES, MOVING, NEW JOB, HEALTH, ALLERGIES, ETC.!
If this puppy/dog is returned to the Seller, the Seller may attempt to re-home the puppy/dog. The Buyer will receive a refund of 70% of the re-sale amount of the dog/puppy(not to exceed 70% of the original purchase price), minus any needed medical/Veterinarian care, once the dog/puppy has been in his/her new home for a minimum of 14 days. It is understood that the Seller is under NO obligation to re-sell the puppy/dog for any specific amount and depending on age, temperament and the current market, the puppy/dog may be placed for little to nothing to get him/her into a new home. It is also understood that if for any reason the Seller decides to keep a puppy that is returned intact, the Buyer will be refunded no more than 70% of the original purchase price, minus any needed medical/Veterinarian care that was needed when the puppy was returned.
It is agreed that if the Buyer chooses to re-home this puppy/dog with a family member or friend, he/she will immediately notify the Seller and agrees to forward the name, address and phone number of the new owners to the Seller.
Buyer guarantees that he/she will not ever sell or give this puppy/dog to a Broker, Pet Store, Puppy Mill, Back Yard Breeder, Animal Shelter, Rescue, Experimental Lab, Auction, Raffle, Contest Give-Away or any other similar situation. If it is ever found by the Seller that the Buyer has done so, the Buyer will incur a $1000.00 penalty fee and will be obligated to pay ALL Court Costs & Attorney Fees incurred by the Seller.
It is understood that this puppy/dog is to live primarily inside the home. Buyer also agrees to provide this puppy/dog with regular veterinarian care, medical attention if needed, proper grooming/ bathing, socialization, water, a nutritious diet and not allow him/her to run loose/unattended. If it is ever found that this puppy/dog is being neglected or abused, the Seller will immediately seize this puppy/dog at NO cost to the Seller.
This contract is between the original Buyer/Seller only and applies to the original puppy/dog only - it is non-transferable to another person or to another puppy. No amendments or attachments have been made or added to this contract. It is understood that any legal matters will be conducted in the State/ County that the Seller resides. All States are asked to accept this contract as legally binding and enforceable.

Note: It is strongly recommended that you keep your puppy/dog on the same food we are feeding him/her during the first 3-4 weeks as this is a major adjustment time for them and changing their food can cause diarrhea/add to any stress they may have. If you choose to change their food at a later date, please do so slowly. We also recommend that you use stainless steel, glass or ceramic bowls to feed/water your puppy/dog. Plastic dog bowls can cause skin irritation and discoloration of the pigment in the dogs face.

By signing below, the Buyer agrees that he/she has read, understands and agrees to ALL of the above terms and conditions and that he/she has received a copy of this animals Health Records, Veterinarian Health Certificate,
Limited AKC Registration Paperwork and a Certificate from AKC for 30 Days of Free Pet Health Insurance.
